Article 1
1. | Article 1 shall be replaced by the following: ‘Article 1 Member States shall ensure that, without prejudice to animal health rules, there is no prohibition, restriction or impediment on:

2. | Article 4 shall be replaced by the following: ‘Article 4 Member States shall ensure that, for intra-Community trade, the semen referred to in Article 2 is collected, processed and stored in a collection centre, or, if need be, stored in a storage centre, approved in accordance with Council Directive 88/407/EEC of 14 June 1988 laying down the animal health requirements applicable to intra-Community trade in and imports of semen of domestic animals of the bovine species (5).’. Article 2
When Member States adopt those measures, they shall contain a reference to this Directive or shall be accompanied by such reference on the occasion of their official publication. The methods of making such reference shall be laid down by Member States.
2. Member States shall communicate to the Commission the text of the main provisions of national law which they adopt in the field governed by this Directive.
