1. Protocol 3 to the Agreement between the European Community and the Government of Denmark and the Home Government of the Faroe Islands[1], concerning the definition of originating products and methods of administrative cooperation contains in Annex II a list of working or processing required to be carried out on non-originating materials in order that the product manufactured can obtain originating status.

2. The entry into force of the amendments to the Nomenclature governed by the Convention on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding (Harmonised System) as of 1 January 2007 implies that this Annex should be further adjusted.

3. It is therefore appropriate, for the proper functioning of the Agreement and with a view to facilitating the work of economic operators and customs administrations, to amend Annex II of Protocol 3 accordingly.

4. These amendments should be introduced by a decision of the Joint Committee established by the Agreement between the European Community and the Government of Denmark and the Home Government of the Faroe Island.

5. The Union should therefore take position in the Joint Committee as set out in the attached draft Decision.
