Elisa Ferreira (1955) is the Commissioner on behalf of Portugal since December 1st 2019. In the Von der Leyen Commission she is responsible for cohesion policy. Previously, Ferreira was a member of the European Parliament since 20 July 2004 as an independent member, and is aligned with the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
