The Czech Presidency presents its priorities and work programme

Today Prime Minister Topolánek and Deputy Prime Minister Vondra introduced the priorities and the work program of the Presidency. The key priorities are the three ‘E’s’: Economy, Energy and Europe in the world. The motto is a ‘Europe without barriers’.

Van 1 januari t/m 31 juni 2009 vervulde Tsjechië het voorzitterschap van de Europese Unie. Het Tsjechisch voorzitterschap richtte zich op de landen ten oosten van de Europese Unie. Ook de kredietcrisis en klimaatverandering, alsmede het Verdrag van Lissabon, speelden het half jaar een belangrijke rol.
