Geert Wilders, leader of the PVV, the extreme right wing anti muslim party in the Netherlands, visits the queen for consultation.

After the general election every party leader visits the queen for consultation. The center-right Liberal Party of Marke Rutte emerged for the first time as the largest single party, with 31 seats in the 150-seat legislature, and was first to visit the queen for consultation. Rutte's party was followed by the Labour Party, with 30 seats. The Freedom Party of Geert Wilders, which opposes what it calls the "Islamization" of the Netherlands, improved its position significantly, becoming the third-largest party in the parliament, by jumping from 9 to 24 seats.

Geert Wilders who no longer can be ignored by the other parties claims that his party should participate in the new Government.

Mark Rutte who has never previously completely excluded the possibility of working with The Freedom Party to form a new Government is faced with the difficult decision of whether to seek to form a government with him.

However, even in coaition Mark Rutte and Geert Wilders will not have the majority to form a new Government and a third party or even a fourth party would have to joint the coalition to gain the needed 75 seats + 1 of the 150 chamber seats.

The big question is which party would be willing to work together with Geert Wilders in an new coalition.

Every party leader has now visited the queen and she is now expected to name a negotiator to open preliminary talks among potential coalition partners.
