Biography Max Kohnstamm - Main contents

In 2008 the biography of the Dutch European, Max Kohnstamm, was published.

Kohnstamm was actively involved in the European integration process, especially during the post-war years. In the beginning of the 1950s he played an important role in the creation of the European Coal and Steal Community (ECSC).

In 2011, the English translation of the biography by dr. A.G. Harryvan and prof. dr. J. van der Hartst was published, partly as a result of funding by the Montesquieu Institute. A preview of the biography is available on this site. The introduction and the two first chapters can be downloaded below.
