SWD is one of the possible codes assigned to documents from one the most important series of publications issued by the European Commission. SWD-documents are working documents published by the Commission. A fair proportion of SWD-documents is directly linked to legislative proposals and other documents directly related to the legislative proces.

Prior to 2012 SWD-type documents were designated with SEC¹.
