Joint Commission & HR document - Main contents

JOIN is one of the possible codes assigned to documents from one the most important series of publications issued by the European Commission. JOIN-documents are joint proposals, communications, reports, white papers and green papers and are formally adopted jointly by the European Commission and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

In practice JOIN-proposals and other JOIN-documents originate from one or more of the member states but, as the European Commission is the sole institution with the right of initiative, these proposals and other documents formally have to be submitted by the European Commission.
