Commission condemns EU official's switch to food industry - Main contents

The EU commission said it's "regrettable" and "against the spirit of independence" of the EU's food safety agency that its former head of the executive board, Diana Banaty, quit and was hired immediately by a food lobby outfit. The commission wants to see "cooling periods" in place, a spokesman said.
