It’s time to (campus) party! - Main contents
Today and tomorrow I’m involved in two very interesting events - the EU’s own Digital Agenda Assembly and the TechAllStar awards - which reward entreprenuers we have in Europe. It’s a great time to be asking what ideas Europeans have for their digital future. All these guys and girls are full of great ideas. These people and ideas can change the world for the better.
Another group that impresses me a great deal is Campus Party Europe. Through collaboration and sheer excellence, Campus Party’s people are going to make a better Europe for all of us. They are real role models and they make me want to be 20 again.
They have a new campaign, called TheBigThink, which invites people to tweet in their vision. The 5,000 best entries win a free trip to Campus Party Europe in Berlin. The festival is on from August 21 to 26.
TheBigThink is about driving change in European policy. When the debate is over the popular ideas will be handed to the European Commission. No wonder their slogan this year is “re-typing Europe’s source code”.
So if you want to connect with 10,000 talented minds at the former Tempelhof airport - then you need to be at Campus Party Berlin this August. There’s more than 600 hours of content across 24 subject areas from social media to gaming and design. You probably don’t need to be Albert Einstein to realise they won’t get much sleep that week!
Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho and Don Tapscott, the tech guru will also be there.
Entering TheBigThink is easy.
Tweet your idea using the hashtag of #I4DA (Ideas For the Digital Agenda), and include the hashtag of your entry’s category: #YouthEmpolyment, #AgingWell, #Entrepreneurship, #Health or #InternetRights. You’ve got until June 30 to enter.
