The world moves fast these days: we need to move fast with it. Today we relaunch the department of the European Commission leading on the Digital Agenda for Europe.

The new services - now called DG CONNECT (in full, the Directorate General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology) will replace the old DG INFSO. A new structure will let it focus on many important new policy areas like the cloud or internet security - as well as important tools like sharing knowledge, and coordinating with stakeholders. More than that, it should bring a whole new culture: one based even more on teamwork, flexibility and transparency.

Now in Europe it’s a time of great uncertainty, and high unemployment. But the staff of DG CONNECT have a very clear job - including to boost Europe’s economy through the digital agenda, to support a sustainable, secure society, and to carry out the radically modernised research and innovation that can fuel our future.
