of 26 June 2014

on granting derogations to Member States with respect to the transmission of statistics pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 May 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union (1), and in particular Article 6(1) thereof,

Having regard to the requests made by Kingdom of Belgium, Republic of Bulgaria, Kingdom of Denmark, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Estonia, Ireland, Hellenic Republic, Kingdom of Spain, French Republic, Republic of Croatia, Italian Republic, Republic of Cyprus, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Hungary, Republic of Malta, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Republic of Austria, Republic of Poland, Portuguese Republic, Romania, Republic of Slovenia, Slovak Republic, Republic of Finland, Kingdom of Sweden and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,

Whereas:

In accordance with Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) No 549/2013, the Commission should grant temporary derogations to Member States in so far as national statistical systems of the Member States necessitates major adaptations for the application of that Regulation. Derogations should only be granted on duly justified grounds.

It emerges from the information provided to the Commission that the Member States’ requests for derogations are justified by the need for major adaptations to national administrative and statistical systems in order to comply in full with Regulation (EU) No 549/2013.

Such derogation should be granted, at their request, to Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The measures provided for in this Decision are in accordance with the opinion of the European Statistical System Committee,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Derogations as set out in the Annex are granted to the Member States listed therein.

Article 2

This Decision is addressed to the Kingdom of Belgium, Republic of Bulgaria, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of Estonia, Ireland, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the French Republic, the Republic of Croatia, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Cyprus, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Hungary, the Republic of Malta, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Poland, the Portuguese Republic, Romania, the Republic of Slovenia, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Finland, the Kingdom of Sweden, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
