COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2015/1557
of 13 July 2015
amending Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of concerning crop statistics
(Text with EEA relevance)
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 concerning crop statistics and repealing Council Regulations (EEC) No 837/90 and (EEC) No 959/93 (1), and in particular Article 6(2) thereof,
Whereas:
(1) |
Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 establishes the framework for the production of comparable Union statistics on annual crops. |
(2) |
Following a periodic review of the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 543/2009, in the interests of comparability it is deemed necessary to update some of the variable names and definitions so that they are applied and understood in a uniform manner. |
(3) |
Listed variables that have become obsolete should be discontinued. |
(4) |
Given that national production data should be comparable, the degree of humidity should be added to the production of some classes for plants that are harvested green. |
(5) |
Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
The Annex to Regulation (EC) No 543/2009 is replaced by the Annex to this Regulation.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
Done at Brussels, 13 July 2015.
For the Commission
The President
Jean-Claude JUNCKER
