Debate: Middle East policy: The chances and choices for the Netherlands - Main contents
Should The Netherlands actively interfere in conflicts in the Middle East? The new government will have to address this question. European countries and the United States have been trying for years to bring peace and stability back into the region through military and civilian intervention. So far with little effect.
Does it make sense to intervene? If so, what should be the policy of the Netherlands and the EU? Where do both the region and Europe benefit most? How can the Netherlands contribute to stability and democratization in the Middle East in the long term? These questions were asked during the debate with Sadet Karabulut, Martijn Kitzen, Jan Gruiters en Paul Brill on 7 June 2017. The debate was led by Max van Weezel.
