The European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP), in collaboration with EU-OSHA, has created this biennial award in honour of the contribution to occupational health psychology of Eusebio (Seb) Rial González.
Seb was a founding member of the EAOHP and head of EU-OSHA’s Prevention and Research Unit until his death in December 2014.
The Award is open to any OHP researcher or practitioner who has produced a body of work that has made a considerable contribution to the field of occupational health psychology. The winner will be awarded during the closing session of the EAOHP conference in April 2020 in Cyprus.
In addition, EU-OSHA will present the newly received ESENER data in a special session on Legislation and practical management of psychosocial risks during the conference.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread across the world, causing disruption which also resulted in the postponement of our conference in Cyprus to 2-4 September 2020.
Travel restrictions are gradually being eased across the world. However, our conference host, the European University Cyprus, will remain closed until October 2020 and has suspended all planned events on-campus. Given this development, we have reviewed the various options available in relation to the conference.
In order to avoid further delay, we have decided to hold the conference online on 2-4 September 2020 as a virtual conference. However, we also recognise that the value of our conference lies not only in the generation of new scientific knowledge but also in bringing the OHP community together in the collaborative, supportive and friendly way we have been fostering since the EAOHP was established.
We have therefore decided to organise a free follow-up face-to-face EAOHP Symposium on 17-18 June 2021 in Rome. The focus of this event will be on ‘Mental health and Well-being at work in times of crisis’ and we would like to invite all delegates who have registered for the conference to also participate in this event, free of charge. We believe that through this innovative package of events online and face-to-face we will be able to continue to bring the OHP community together, enhance different avenues of interaction and collaboration, and showcase what our discipline can offer to the world during this challenging time.
