De Samenwerkingsraad tussen de Europese Unie en Kazachstan houdt op maandag 20 juni 2022 in Luxemburg zijn 19e zitting, voorgezeten door de Franse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken Catherine Colonna en de vicepremier en minister van Buitenlandse Zaken van Kazachstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi.
De Samenwerkingsraad zal de stand van zaken doornemen en de volgende stappen bespreken van de versterkte partnerschaps- en samenwerkingsovereenkomst tussen de EU en Kazachstan. Voorts wordt gesproken over politieke, economische en handelsaangelegenheden (waaronder binnenlandse hervormingen, de rechtsstaat en mensenrechten, en regionale handel) en samenwerking.
Ook wordt ingegaan op regionale en internationale ontwikkelingen en samenwerking, onder meer op het gebied van veiligheid.
In the Council, government ministers from each EU country meet to discuss, amend and adopt laws, and coordinate policies. The ministers have the authority to commit their governments to the actions agreed on in the meetings.
Together with the European Parliament , the Council is the main decision-making body of the EU.
