    Christine Lagarde (1956) is sinds 1 november 2019 president van de ECB. Daarvoor was zij van 2011 tot 2019 directeur van het IMF. In Frankrijk diende zij van 2007-2011 als minister van Economische Zaken, financiën en Industrie in het centrumrechtse kabinet-Fillon. In 2005-2007 was zij onderminister voor Buitenlandse Handel. Eerder was zij lange tijd advocaat bij het internationale advocatenkantoor Baker & McKenzie.
