Minister for Justice Gunnar Strömmer and Minister for Migration Maria Malmer Stenergard will chair the informal meeting of justice and home affairs ministers. EU migration policy, the fight against organised crime and Russia’s aggression against Ukraine will be on the agenda.
The first day of the meeting will be devoted to home affairs, while the second day will focus on issues relating to justice.

-Migration and asylum
The migration ministers will discuss return policy, including cooperation with third countries. They will also discuss how to ensure an effective whole-of-government approach to meet migratory challenges.

-The fight against organised crime
The home affairs ministers will exchange views on the need for access to data, electronic evidence and information for judicial and law enforcement purposes in the digital era.

-Russia’s aggression against Ukraine
Information from the Counter-Terrorism Coordinator (EU CTC) regarding the internal security dialogue with Ukraine will be presented on 26 January.
27 January - issues relating to justice

-The fight against organised crime
The justice ministers will exchange views on the role of Eurojust in supporting national authorities’ coordination of investigations, as well as on a new instrument for the transfer of criminal proceedings.

-Russia’s aggression against Ukraine
Swedish war crimes prosecutors and Eurojust will give a presentation, followed by a discussion on the prosecution of international crimes in Ukraine. Ukrainian Minister of Justice Denis Malyuska will participate via VTC.
