Openbare raadpleging over gevolgen maatregelen landbouwbeleid in ultraperifere regio's EU (en) - Main contents
A public consultation on the existing specific measures for agriculture in the outermost regions of the European Union, known as the POSEI scheme, has been launched today.
Open until 12 November 2013, the consultation looks at the effectiveness of the existing measures, also within the context of the recent reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), with a view to an upcoming review of the current POSEI arrangements.
The consultation is open to everybody, but the Commission is particularly keen for input from citizens, organisations and public authorities in the outermost regions themselves.
POSEI covers special measures to guarantee the supply of essential products and to support the local agricultural production in the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira and the French overseas departments of Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guyana and - as of 1 January 2014 - Mayotte.
The annual budget currently allocated to the POSEI programmes is 653 MEUR and the present initiative does not aim to modify it.
